Brolga Dance Academy are excited to be in the heart of Redfern, providing a cultural dance learning to the local and surrounding communities. Specialising in Aboriginal Contemporary and Traditional classes. Our students will discover culture through body movement as a tool to discover the intricacies on words and language of the Aboriginal people.
We are proud to be a 100% owned and operated Aboriginal business, using Aboriginal dance teachers and delivering an authentic culturally safe and professional service.

We are thrilled to introduce you to our Brolga Elite Dancers . The Brolga Elite is our representative team and is an intense skills transfer & career development program. The program aims to build self-confidence, enhance the skills, movements & techniques & provide career development opportunities.
A perfect class to introduce your little superstars to Aboriginal Contemporary dance. In a fun and culturally safe environment, students will explore infused Aboriginal and contemporary dance styles to create storytelling. They will also develop the skills and techniques tailored to their age group.
No dance experience required.
For boys and girls aged 5-11 yrs
Thursdays 5pm to 6pm
Students will explore, develop and enhance Aboriginal culture, language and movements as we fuse contemporary and Aboriginal dance styles to create unique storytelling through body movement. This class will provide the foundations for technique, and skills towards performance and development.
No dance experience required.
For girls and boys aged 12 to 18 years of age.
Thursdays 6-7pm
If your looking for fun, exercise and/or to connect with your culture then this is the class for you. Explore, develop and enhance Aboriginal culture, language and movements as we fuse contemporary and Aboriginal dance tailored for our Adult classes.
No dance experience required.
For women and men aged 18yrs+.
Thursday's 7-8pm
Immerse yourself in culture through traditional dance with Gamilaroi dancers Tommy Dahlstrom and Sissy Bell.
Learn traditional movements, how to mimic animals, share in traditional storytelling, song, dance and language.
No dance experience required.
For male and females aged 5 and above.
Fridays 5-6pm
The Brolga Elite is our representative team and is an intense skills transfer and career development program. Participants will develop and enhance their dance skills, confidence, techniques, balance and strength, cardiovascular health, cultural and spiritual connection, and cognitive performance. It provides a creative outlet to organically grow, create an artist and allowing interpersonal development and cultural expressive motivation, identity and pride. The program is invite only to our dancers aged 12+ years.
Have fun dancing while losing weight with our amazing Torres Strait Islander dance instructor Taryn Beatty. This class is a fitness-party with a contagious blend of Latin and international rhythms that provides a fun and effective workout to a global community. BURN IT UP, and dance together.
For males and females aged 18 years above.
